Rock guitarist Saul Hudson is better known by his stage name, Slash. Although he first came to prominence in 1985 with Guns N’ Roses, he’s had a long career playing with several other high-profile rock acts. Born in Hampstead, London, England, his musical journey began after he had moved to Los Angles, California and intended to form a rock band with his friend Steven Adler. Since Slash didn’t play an instrument at the time, he chose to learn to play the bass guitar. However, he followed his instincts and almost immediately switched to guitar. He played in a series of bands in the early 1980s, ending up in a group called Hollywood Rose that featured vocalist Axl Rose and guitarist Izzy Stradlin. The rest is history…

Changing their name to Guns N’ Roses, the group released their debut album, APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION, in 1987. One of the most popular Hard Rock albums of all time, the release made Guns N’ Roses an international sensation. The group remained one of the most popular Rock acts in the world until things began to fall apart and Slash left in 1996. Although he had released a 1995 album with his side project Slash’s Snakepit, his next high-profile project was the group Velvet Revolver, which also featured former GNR bandmates Duff Mckagan (bass) and Matt Sorum (drums), plus guitarist Dave Kushner and vocalist Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots).  Once that band broke up, he continued to explore Hard Rock styles as a solo artist and as leader of Slash’s Snakepit and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. In the meantime, Slash reunited with his GNR bandmates in 2016 and has been touring sporadically with them ever since.

Now, in 2024, Slash returns with ORGY OF THE DAMNED, a collection of Blues songs reinterpreted in Slash’s own inimitable style. While he doesn’t steer clear of his classic Hard Rock style, the album is a varied collection of recordings that feature appearances from artists such as Chris Robinson (The Black Crowes), Billy F. Gibbons (ZZ Top), Chris Stapleton, Chris Robinson, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers (Bad Company), Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Beth Hart, Dorothy, Tash Neal, and Demi Lovato. From laid-back acoustic Blues to out-and-out rockers, ORGY OF THE DAMNED is a Blues orgy for your senses. There’s a reason why Slash has remained an iconic guitarist for four decades and this album just adds to his legacy.
